Call for Volunteers
CLOWD’s volunteers play an integral part in the success of the organization and annual Film Festival. CLOWD takes pride in having a Volunteer Team as diverse and inclusive as our Festival programming.
VOLUNTEER AT CLOWD
Volunteers must work two shifts designated by CLOWD’s Volunteer Coordinator in order to qualify for a Volunteer Pass (generic, non-credential passes will be available at each venue for volunteers working less than 2 shifts). A volunteer must wear a Volunteer Pass during their volunteering shift. If a volunteer wishes to attend a screening, they may wait in the standby line and be permitted to view the film once all other pass holders have been admitted to the screening.
This pass allows volunteers to attend screenings and panels. It also allows volunteers to attend parties as guests, unless they are part of party volunteer group.

During the Film Festival, there are a variety of volunteer roles to be filled. Which role is the best fit for you?
Box Office Volunteer: Box Office volunteers provide assistance to CLOWD's Box Office Team. In this role, you are often the ‘first impression’ to Festival guests. You will greet guests, organize merchandise, distribute VIP bags, and assist CLOWD staff to assign Festival credentials, when needed. Traffic at the Box Office varies during the Festival, so this role is fitting for volunteers who are flexible and take good direction.
Lead Usher: Ideal for volunteers with previous experience at our Festival or a similar event, Lead Ushers oversee usher teams, delegate tasks, implement Festival protocols, aid and direct guests with more complex issues, accurately time Q&A sessions and report incidents to Festival Staff.
Usher: Great for first-time volunteers or those with excellent customer service skills! Ushers are the face of CLOWD and assist in organizing guests, answering questions, scanning festival passes and tickets, and ensuring an orderly and memorable festival experience.
Party Host: Only for volunteers ages 21+, Party Hosts admit approved guests to Festival parties and sell party tickets, when appropriate. Party Hosts may be asked to check guest IDs, if necessary. This role is performed at the entrance to party venues, and may require you to stand and be outside for an extended period of time. Please consider these factors and dress accordingly. As a Party Host, remember you are in a working-role and not a party guest.
Production Volunteer: As a Production Volunteer for the Festival, a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle are required for transportation, set-up, and take-down of CLOWD banners and materials. You will work closely with and assist the CLOWD Production Manager to ensure each Festival venue is properly outfitted and supplied.
Driver: Driver is an essential role to the Festival’s success, as you are in charge of transporting our important out-of-town guests (typically to/from the airport/hotel). This is a great role for volunteers who prefer one-on-one interactions and enjoy driving. Drivers must have a valid driver's license and reliable, clean vehicle. You must record mileage during driving shifts and report to CLOWD staff.
Operations Volunteer: These limited shifts are often scheduled at CLOWD temp offices before the festival begins, and include tasks such as organizing merch, assembling filmmaker bags, labeling Festival credentials, and other simple, but crucial errands.
