Call for Volunteers
Volunteer Benefits & Requirements
Join us for a two-night celebration of innovation, creativity, and storytelling at the inaugural CLOWD AI Film Festival, taking place October 7–8 at the iconic Alex Theatre in Glendale, California.
Volunteers are an essential part of the festival experience, helping us create a memorable event for filmmakers, guests, and audiences from around the world.
Volunteer Commitment
To receive a complimentary Volunteer Festival Pass, volunteers must complete two assigned shifts scheduled by the CLOWD Volunteer Coordinator.
Volunteers working fewer than two shifts will receive venue-specific admission passes for the duration of their scheduled volunteer service.
All volunteers are required to wear their Volunteer Pass while on duty.
Attending Screenings
When not volunteering, Volunteer Pass holders are welcome to attend festival screenings and panel discussions.
Admission to screenings is offered on a space-available basis. Volunteers may join the standby line and will be admitted after ticket holders, credentialed guests, filmmakers, sponsors, and VIP pass holders have been seated.
Festival Parties & Special Events
Volunteer Pass holders are also invited to attend official festival parties and networking events as guests, provided they are not scheduled to work those events as part of the Party Host team.
Be Part of the First Chapter
The first CLOWD AI Film Festival is more than an event—it's the beginning of a community exploring the future of storytelling. Whether you're welcoming guests, supporting filmmakers, or helping behind the scenes, you'll play a role in bringing this new cinematic frontier to life.
Behind every great festival is a great crew.
CLOWD volunteers play a vital role in bringing the festival to life—from welcoming guests and supporting filmmakers to helping create unforgettable moments throughout the event. Their enthusiasm, professionalism, and love of storytelling are what make the festival experience possible.
At CLOWD, we believe the future of storytelling belongs to everyone. That's why we're proud to cultivate a volunteer community as diverse, creative, and forward-thinking as the films we celebrate.
Volunteer Opportunities
It takes an incredible team to bring CLOWD to life. Whether you're greeting guests, supporting filmmakers, helping behind the scenes, or keeping the festival running smoothly, there's a role for every type of volunteer.
Which role sounds like your perfect festival experience?
Usher
A great starting point for first-time volunteers and anyone who enjoys working with people.
As an Usher, you'll help create a welcoming and organized experience for festival guests by scanning tickets and passes, answering questions, directing attendees, and assisting with theater seating. You'll be one of the most visible members of the CLOWD team and play a key role in shaping the guest experience.
Lead Usher
Ideal for experienced volunteers who are comfortable leading a team.
Lead Ushers oversee venue operations and support fellow ushers throughout their shift. Responsibilities include assigning tasks, implementing festival procedures, assisting guests with more complex questions, monitoring theater flow, timing Q&A sessions, and communicating any incidents or concerns to Festival Staff.
Box Office Volunteer
Be the first face guests see when they arrive at CLOWD.
Box Office Volunteers support festival staff by welcoming attendees, distributing VIP bags, organizing merchandise, assisting with credential pickup, and helping answer guest questions. Because activity levels can vary throughout the festival, this role is best suited for volunteers who are adaptable, proactive, and comfortable taking direction.
Party Host (21+)
Help create a smooth and memorable experience at CLOWD's networking events and celebrations.
Party Hosts welcome approved guests, check IDs when necessary, manage admissions, and sell event tickets when applicable. This role is primarily stationed at venue entrances and may require extended periods of standing, sometimes outdoors. While you'll be at the party, remember you're there as part of the festival team—not as a guest.
Operations Volunteer
Support the festival before the lights go up.
Operations Volunteers assist with essential pre-festival preparation, including assembling filmmaker welcome bags, organizing merchandise, labeling credentials, preparing materials, and handling a variety of administrative tasks. These shifts are typically scheduled before the festival begins and are perfect for detail-oriented volunteers who enjoy helping behind the scenes.
Production Volunteer
Help build the festival experience from the ground up.
Production Volunteers work directly with the CLOWD Production Manager to prepare venues for screenings and events. Responsibilities may include transporting materials, installing signage, setting up festival branding, and assisting with venue setup and breakdown. A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle are required.
Driver
Keep our filmmakers, guests, and special attendees moving.
Drivers provide transportation for visiting filmmakers, speakers, and other festival guests, typically between airports, hotels, venues, and events. This role is ideal for volunteers who enjoy one-on-one interactions and are comfortable navigating the local area. Drivers must have a valid driver's license, a reliable and clean vehicle, and accurately track mileage during their shifts.
