Toby Hyder is an AI filmmaker and creative technologist specialising in cinematic storytelling through emerging tools. His work blends historical realism, volumetric capture, custom LoRa’s and generative AI to create films that feel grounded, human, and intentional.

 

His award-winning film Bones of Yew explores the Hundred Years’ War through the perspective of a peasant archer, combining scanned performances with AI-generated environments to reconstruct the past with emotional and visual authenticity.

 

Through his studio XOLINK, Toby develops AI-driven production workflows that prioritize identity, realism, and narrative integrity—bridging the gap between traditional filmmaking and generative systems.
